OurStandards
The SafeCare standards are ISQua accredited and divided into 13 categories that cover both clinical and non-clinical aspects of care. They are applicable to any type of healthcare facility and were created to ensure they specifically address the needs of resource-restricted settings. They are the foundation of all that we do.
INTERNATIONALLY ACCREDITED
Our standards are accredited by the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua) External Evaluation Association (EEA). They help to evaluate a healthcare facility’s performance on effective, safe, and people-centered care, and focus on issues with the highest impact on these areas. In this way, prompt, targeted, and effective action can be taken to address them.

BOTH TARGETED AND TAILORED
In particular, the SafeCare standards survey ten specific areas. These are Accident & Emergency Care, HIV, TB & Malaria, Infection Prevention, Life & Fire Safety, Mother & Child, Customer Care, Business Performance, Staff & Training, Stock Management, and Clinical Management.
Stakeholders can also add topics to address the specific needs of the facilities within their reach. This includes, for example, pandemic preparedness, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH), sustainable practices or Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR).
CONTINUOUS EVOLUTION
The SafeCare standards are also on a journey of continuous improvement. As a living document, the standards evolve over time to accommodate new information, new needs, and new challenges that are emerging as important in resource-restricted regions.
